Ben Griego has been involved with Corrections and Law Enforcement for over 41 years.
He has been actively involved in Security Threat Group/Gang Management for 30 years.
He completed a 21-year career with the Colorado Department of Corrections and continues his work as President of Correctional Solutions.
Nationally, he provides training and expertise for a variety of agencies and organizations in the areas of Security Threat Groups, Private Prisons Oversight, Classification Systems/Management, Security Audits, and After Action Reviews for Corrections, and Law Enforcement.
With great interest in Security Threat Group activities, he developed CDOC’s first STG policy and program. He has also been involved in the design and modification of several other State DOC STG systems, including the Country’s largest Private Prison System.
He served on the Executive Board of the National Major Gang Task Force and was President and founding member of Colorado STING. He continues as a member of various other State and National Gang Investigators Associations.
During his tenure with CDOC he developed language for State Statutes that govern Private Prison’s oversight for Colorado. He was instrumental in the design of the first monitoring unit in the nation that was subsidized through payments from Private Prison payments back to the State.
