Detective Sergeant Patrick Beumler is the Family Violence Supervisor for the Glendale Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division Special Victim’s Unit. He has served with Glendale PD over 18 years, is an AZPOST Domestic Violence Investigations Trainer and recipient of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Distinguished Service Award for his assistance implementing the MCAO DV Strangulation Program in 2013. In 2014, Det. Sgt. Beumler received the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership Award for First-Line Supervisor Training on Violence Against Women.
Det. Sgt. Beumler has developed the Glendale Police DV Offense Report including its Lethality and Coercive Control Assessment which was nominated for the 2014 U.S. Dept. of Justice OVC National Service Award for Professional Innovation in Victims Services. In 2015 Sgt. Beumler was instrumental in creating collaboration between Luke Air Force Base’s Family Advocacy Program and the Glendale Police Department. The coordinated response for service members and their families involved in domestic violence has earned both agencies an honorable mention from the IACP and American Military University in the 2015 Civilian Law Enforcement and Military Cooperation Award.
He is a member of the Arizona West Valley DV Fatality Review Team, MCAO Strangulation Investigators Association, MAG DV Council Law Enforcement Affinity Group, Glendale DV Task Force and Arizona Child Abduction Response Team.
