Paul Ventura is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Applied Sociology. Mr. Ventura has been a probation officer for almost 12 years; seven years in Coconino County, AZ and he currently works for Yavapai County, AZ.
Mr. Ventura has a variety of experience working with adult probationers, having supervised Intensive Probation, Standard Probation and Interstate Probation. In addition, he supervised sex offenders for 6 years and monitored GPS probationers. Mr. Ventura is an AZ certified firearms instruction, Simunitions-Scenario Based Training instructor, a facilitator of the cognitive behavioral program Moral Reconation Therapy and a Coach for the EPICS II program developed by Melanie and Chris Lowencamp . Mr. Ventura is also a mentor Probation Officer to new officers, assisting in training and developing new hires. He is the chair of the Organizational Management Committee, which includes three sub-committees, for Yavapai County Adult Probation. He is also a member of the Yavapai County Adult Probation Department Steering Committee. Mr. Ventura is a member of the National Probation and Parole Training and Education Committee. Mr. Ventura presented at the 2012 APPA Institute in Indianapolis, IN, the 2013 APPA in Houston, TX, the 2013 Arizona Specialty Courts Conference in Prescott, AZ, the 2014 New Jersey State Probation Conference, in Atlantic City, NJ, and the 2015 National Drug Court Conference, in Anaheim, CA, as well as other local Arizona conferences and trainings. With his free time, Mr. Ventura volunteers his time as a basketball coach for a middle school in the Cottonwood, AZ area.
