Dr. Chase Wetherington is currently a Detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, in Tampa, FL, where he has served since 2012 in a variety of positions including Field Training Officer an as a part of the District II Intelligence Unit. During his time in law enforcement, he has investigated and solved countless felonious offenses, attended hundreds of hours of advanced training and has received numerous accommodations and awards including three lifesaving awards. He is an FDLE certified instructor teaching subjects for both law enforcement agencies and local LE academy classes. He is also the founder of Wetherington Consulting, LLC., a consulting firm which specializes in performing quantitative research studies and consulting for law enforcement agencies. Dr. Wetherington has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida, Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Criminal Justice from Walden University. The focus of his research and dissertation is on many law enforcement officer characteristics, including formal academic education levels, and their impact on disciplinary issues and performance.
