Chris Jones is a training specialist with the University of Tennessee Law Enforcement Innovation Center. He facilitates and instructs an array of courses to include topics on domestic violence, crime prevention, security and vulnerability, leadership, school resource officers and school safety, emergency management, chemical and biological weapons security, active shooter response for business, officers in crisis, and instructor development. He also does consultations for organizations to enhance their security management protocol. Prior to joining LEIC, he was a sworn Officer for the Kingsport Police Department. He has also worked as a supervisor in the alternative energy field, building various wind energy sites in many regions across the country and internationally.
Chris is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in leadership and professional practice through Trevecca University. He has an MBA with a specialization in Human Resource Management from King University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from East Tennessee State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Northeast State Community College. Chris is certified through the American Crime Prevention Institute as a Crime Prevention Specialist and a Security Assessment Specialist. He is also a Certified Practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument (MBTI).
