Chris Jones is a training specialist with the University of Tennessee Law Enforcement Innovation Center. He instructs an array of courses on topics including domestic violence, crime prevention, security and vulnerability, leadership, school resource officers and school safety, emergency management, chemical and biological weapons security, active shooter response for business, officers in crisis, and instructor development. He also does consultations for organizations to enhance their security management protocol. Prior to joining LEIC, he was a sworn Officer for the Kingsport Police Department. He has also worked as a supervisor in the alternative energy field, building various wind energy sites in many regions across the country and internationally.
Chris earned his Doctor of Education in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca University. He has an MBA from King University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from East Tennessee State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Northeast State Community College. Chris is certified through the American Crime Prevention Institute as a Crime Prevention Specialist and a Security Assessment Specialist. He is also a Certified Practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument (MBTI).
