Unit 2 Video

The Dynamic of Authority is the cornerstone of the Police Dynamics program. Virtually every instance of police misconduct results from officers operating “out from under” the principle of authority. The essence of integrity is “being who you represent yourself to be.” Professional officers have learned to faithfully represent their authorities without letting their egos get in the way. All of the lawful authority necessary to accomplish the police mission has been delegated to our officers. This training session explores the consequences of officers “giving away” this lawful authority by resorting to ego-power. Then presents practical steps to professionally exercise lawful authority in such a way as to build trust, generate voluntary compliance with the law, and prevent ethical failures.

During this webinar you will learn:

  • The relationship between integrity and authority;
  • How to professionally exercise lawful authority;
  • How to build trust and generate voluntary compliance with the law
