Janee’ Boswell is the Supervisor of Animal Control for the Boulder Police Department, the President of the Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers, and the Secretary of the National Animal Care and Control Association. Janee’ earned her Bachelor’s degree and has been working in the Animal Control Profession for the past seventeen years, the last eleven of that as Supervisor. Janee’ is a State and Nationally certified animal control officer and has received extensive training in cruelty investigations, dangerous dog investigations, and techniques for interviews & interrogations. Janee' is also one of the department certified Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) operators. In 2010, Janee was hired by City of Boulder Police to develop and supervise a new Animal Control Unit. As supervisor, Janee’ is responsible for daily functions of the animal control unit, successful investigations of cruelty and neglect cases, and coordinating response and rescue services during significant events such as the Olde Stage Fire and the Northern Colorado Floods.
As president of CAACO, Janeé serves as the representative for Animal Control Officers across the State of Colorado. She serves on legislative committees, conference training committees and served on the coalition of living safely with dogs as well as the Colorado Dog Protection Task Force, developing curriculum for police officers to handle encounters with dogs. Janee’s role at NACA includes the board of directors secretarial duties as well as the Chair of the Disaster Committee and the DHS ESSCC representative.
